Unsolicited manuscripts with Asian, particularly Southeast Asian, themes are welcomed from agents as well as published and unpublished authors.

• Please include with your submission an outline of your work, a brief bio and a list of three comparative titles in the market.

• We accept partial and full manuscripts but we prefer the latter.

• We are currently not accepting poetry for publication, sorry.

Please allow Monsoon’s editorial team 8 weeks to evaluate your submission. If you do not hear from anybody within 8 weeks, please email us. Monsoon Books does not offer a manuscript appraisal service. Due to the large number of submissions we receive, we are unable to offer a critique of rejected submissions. There are plenty of specialist manuscript appraisal agencies available, most of which have an online presence and can be found using regular internet search engines.

On the back of the success in print and digital form of “Crime Scene: Singapore”, Monsoon Books has now started a new ebook series of crime fiction shorts set in Asia. Budding crime writers who would like to submit short stories set anywhere in Asia can do so here.

Update: we have already received enough submissions (from Singapore, India, Japan, Thailand, Korea and more) for the first volume and are now accepting submission for the second volume. 

Monsoon Books is looking to add more volumes to the “Best of Asian Erotica” series, a successful ebook series of literary erotica set in Asia.
